OLYMPIA MAN WINS $250,000!

Says it’s a Chance to ‘Do Some Good’

OLYMPIA —
Robert Sherwood from Olympia says that he’s feeling “very blessed.” Of course he is. He just won $250,000 playing Mega Millions. Robert was in a Texaco station on Martin Way in Olympia checking some tickets he’d purchased earlier in the week. He said, “The sun was shining in so I couldn’t read what the ticket said.” He brought the ticket to the clerk at the counter and asked them to check the ticket. “They called somebody else, and they all got excited and then they came and they told me,” Robert explained. “They had to figure out what to do too.”

Robert said the extra money will be a chance to do some good. “It’s quite a bit of money, and there are some charities and things that we support and could support even greater,” he said. “There’s a responsibility that goes with it.”

He also has some medical expenses coming up and family members with educational costs that he’ll help out with. He said there is also a vacation in the future for him and his wife.

Robert has been retired for about five years. He bought his $250,000 Mega Millions ticket at the Meridian Corner Texaco at 9410 Martin Way East in Olympia. For selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a selling bonus of $2,500.
